Social Service Activity Report for Aug., Sep., 2008

1. DATE: 10.08.08, Time: 10.00 Hrs

Venue : Centre for Social Service
Program : Appraisal of Donors and New Hostel Building at Hayath Nagar

This was a Program organized by Centre for Social Service (CSS), Nagole. As the strength of CSS is increased to about 40 and the present accommodation is not enough, CSS took a rented house nearer to their present hostel to accommodate some of the inmates.

As CSS has purchased a house in Thorur, they wanted to open new Hostel there and shift some of the students and vacate the rented house at Nagole. They organized the opening ceremony of the new Building and requested the invitees for contributions towards modification of the existing house to a Hostel. HAF members were invited for this Program and Sri P Mohan Ram & Sri TPV Ramana participated on behalf of HAF and contributed Rs.16,500/- (in total) as a combination of the contributions from the HAF members in their individual capacity as well as from HAF.

Venue : Venkateshwara Social Service Association
Program : Donation towards Monthly Provisions & New Dresses to Senior Citizens

Donated New Clothing to the inmates of Old Age Home of VSSA. This event was partially sponsored by Mr. K S Murthy (retired - ECIL). Sri A V Satyanarayana (SQAG/ECIL), an active member of HAF, sponsored Dinner for the inmates on behalf his mother’s Death Anniversary.

Venue : Vikalangula Kalyana Vedika, Huda Colony
Program: Distribution of monthly provisions

We donated monthly provisions to Vikalangula Kalyana Vedika. This event was partially sponsored by Shri Murthy of IT & TG/ECIL

4. DATE: 13.09.08, Time: 17:15 hrs.

Venue : Hotel Belsons’ Taj, Secunderabad
Program : Meeting with Founder of Gavarasana Foundation, Gollaprolu, E G Dt. A.P.

The founders of HAF with other members met Dr. Gavarasana Satyanarayana & Mrs. Subhadra Gavarasana, (President & Vice President of Gavarasana Foundation respectively) at Hotel Belsons’ Taj and exchanged views on various service activities undertaken by HAF & Gavarasana Foundation.

Gavarasana Foundation is running a safe drinking water plant in Gollaprolu village and distributing bottled water @Rs.5/- for 12 Litres. It also undertakes medical camps at the primary schools, adopted by them at Gollaprolu. It has plans to organize a movement for obtaining old age pension for all the eligible people. It is also trying to making a walking track for walkers on the banks of Sureedu Cheruvu at Gollaprolu.

5. DATE: 20.09.08, Time 17:00 Hrs.

Venue: Lourdu Matha Ashram (Beggars’ relief Home), Nagaram, Hyderabad

20th September is Birth Anniversary of Dr. A S Rao, Founding Managing Director of ECIL. On this eve, HAF has donated monthly provisions to this Home. This event was partially sponsored by Sri Murthy of IT & TG/ECIL.
