Social Service Activity Report for Oct., Nov., Dec., 2008

1. DATE: 12.10.08, Time: 17:00 hrs.

Venue : Vikalagula Kalyana Vedika, Kothapet, Saroor Nagar
Program : Distribution of New Dresses to the Blind Girls Hostel of VKV

When we celebrate Deepavali at our Homes, let’s enable some Visually Challenged girls and poor girls also celebrate Deepavali with new dresses. Hence, we donated new Dresses to all the 25 Girls of this hostel on the eve of Deepavali.

2. DATE: 18.10.08, Time: 17:00 hrs.

Venue : Venkateswara Social Service Association (VSSA)
Program : Distribution of Geometry Boxes for inmates of Girls’ Hostel of VSSA.

Donated Geometry Boxes to 30 Girl Students studying from 6th to 10th Classes. This event was totally sponsored by Shri Surender, Ex-employee of ECIL in memory of his (Late) Son.

3. DATE: 31.10.08, Time: 17:00 hrs

Venue: The Home for Orphan Students, Cherlapalli
Program : Distribution of Bicycles

31st October is the Death Anniversary of Dr. A S Rao, Founder & First Managing Director of ECIL. On this eve, we donated 2 Brand New Hero Jet Bicycles & 1 Second Hand Cycle to the Home for the Orphans. The old Bicycle was donated by Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi of CND/ECIL. Earlier on 20.09.2007, we donated 2 new Bicycles to this Home.

In order to maintain all the 5 Bicycles, we also donated a Cycle Pump & Puncture Kit. These Bicycles are very useful for the students of his home for commuting between their college & the home and also to market places.

Program : Sponsoring Dinner.

Shri B V S Murthy, Founder of Bhanu Kiran Memorial Charitable Trust sponsored Dinner for the old age home & girls hostel run by VSSA on the death anniversary of his Son Late Bhanu Kiran. HAF coordinated the event.

5. DATE: 12.11.08, Time: 17:00 hrs.

Venue : The Home for Orphan Students
Program : Distribution of New Calculators

Donated 5 New Casio make fx-991MS Calculators to this Home. These would be kept as library property of the Home for use by the Inmate Engineering Students. This event is partially sponsored by Mrs. Rajeswari of ISD/ECIL & Shri Sridhar of ESD / ECIL.

6. DATE: 16.11.08, Time: 13:00 hrs.

Venue : Venkateswara Social Service Association (VSSA)
Program : Sponsoring Lunch

Lunch was sponsored by Sri Babu Raj, family friend of Sri P Mohan Ram, to the old age home & girls hostel of VSSA, on the occasion of the birth day of his son Master Anjesh.

7. DATE: 29.11.08, Time: 15:00 hrs.

Venue : Master Bolla Srikanth’s Room (Visually Challenged Boy)
Program : Sponsoring Exam Fee & Maintenance Expenses.

Although Mr Srikanth is born as visually challenged, he is a very bright boy. He had met President Abdul Kalam twice & President Prathiba Patil once. He secured 97% in Inter I year. He requires some financial help for his Inter II year and hence the HAF founders & some more friends extended the necessary financial help to this boy. HAF has coordinated this event.

8. DATE: 05.12.08, Time: 17:00 hrs.

Venue: Karunya Orphanage, Uppal & Center for Social Service, Nagole
Program: Donation towards Provisions

Donated Rs.5,000/- each to both Karunya Orphanage and Centre for Social Service on this day, towards their requirement for Monthly provisions.

9. DATE: 19.12.08, Time: 17:00 hrs.

Venue : Venkateswara Social Service Association
Program: Distribution of Towels & Donation towards provisions.

Donated 66 towels to the old age home & girls’ hostel run by Venkateswara Social Service Association, Malkajgiri. Towels were also given to their old age home at Thoroor also. HAF also contributed towards their monthly provisions.

10. DATE: 27.12.08, Time: 17:00 hrs.

Venue: Sphoorti Foundation
Program: Distribution of Towels.

Donated 84 towels to the children of Sphoorti Foundation. Also celebrated birth day of Shri Padala Surya Prasad, founder Padala Charitable Trust at Sphoorti Foundation. Shri Padala donated Rs.5,000/- to Sphoorti Foundation on this occasion.

We thank one and all, who sponsored as well as participated in our HAF’s Programs.
